Chairman’s Class – The Ultimate Experience
Travel like an executive in our Chairman’s Class cars, positioned on both ends of the train. On one end of the train, the lovely Cedar Rapids brings up the markers, with its glass enclosed gallery. Restored and operated by the Friends of the 261, this Milwaukee Railroad car comes to us from the Twin Cities.
Our second Chairman’s Class car, the Frank Thompson, is a former Pennsylvania Railroad observation car, which ran between Chicago and New York on the famed Broadway Limited. Operated by Pullman Charters LLC, this car resides in Saginaw, Mich. Both cars offer exquisite opportunities to see the New River Gorge, aboard the very best “private varnish” in the industry, and are truly historic specimens from a bygone day or railroad luxury.
Our third Chairman’s Class car is the Super Dome #53 Also owned by Friends of the 261, this full-length beauty features unrivaled views from its extra-large (even by dome car standards) windows and comfortable seating. Its large kitchen downstairs will produce the meals you’ll enjoy as you watch the foliage pass by on your way to Hinton.
Our forth and final Chairman’s Class car is the Moonlight Dome owned by the The Cincinnati Railway Company. Featuring a spectacular Budd dome built for the C&O name train The Chessie which never entered service the car eventually made its way to the B&O. Enjoy this beautiful car as you roll through the New River Gorge and experience dome travel as it was meant to be experienced.
Full meal service is included- that’s breakfast, dinner, and full non-alcoholic beverage service all day. Food is prepared fresh onboard by one of our professional railroad chefs, and is served
